Day 6-Caring for the Mentally Ill
This is Rev Paschal, the Pastor in charge of the church facility in Antsiribe that cares for the mentally ill. People are sent and families bring and stay with those who need special help. It is staffed by Shepherds, a special office of spiritual leaders. The hardships they go through, the Pastors, Shepherds, families, and patients is hard to imagine. For example; 200 patients are cared for by a staff of 18. They live in substandard housing. The food allowance is 50 cents a day. Shepherds receive $5 a month to live on.
Please pray for them. We are going to pray that we can make this a new program of Friends of Madagascar Mission. We invited Pastor Pashal's team to make a proposal.
