King of Kings and Lord of Lords
Greetings in Jesus' name this Holy-Day season.
Here is my devotional for the month of December, along with my best wishes for a blessed New Year of 2012 for each of you.
Thank you for your continued prayers, for both me and the Malagasy people, that God's Word may be spread throughout this Great Red Island, to the glory of His name.
In faith,
Patricia Bentsen

The KING of kings - the LORD of lords.

Isaiah 9:6, "For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace."

During the four weeks of Advent, we await the arrival of Christmas... preparing for the coming of the Christ child.  Advent is a time to celebrate light in the midst of darkness, and also to look forward to the time when Jesus will come again.

At the downtown Lutheran cathedral in Antsirabe, Madagascar, the first Sunday in Advent is celebrated with the new committee members of that church being officially installed at the beginning of the new church year.

Beginning on the afternoon of the 24th of December, the younger Sunday School children present a program at the church, which is followed by a Christmas worship service that evening.  Over the next twelve days, or through January 5th, there is a different Christmas program every day.

What a special way to celebrate the coming of the Christ child, the Savior of the world... the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords... to be reminded every day about the REASON for the SEASON.

PRAYER: Thank you, O God, that out of Your great love for mankind, You sent Your Son, Jesus Christ to be the Savior of the world; and that all who believe in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life.  Help us, Lord, to spread this Good News to those round about us, to our friends, our families, our neighbors.  Amen
